Toby and her Alpacas

Last month Dave and I drove out to Wisconsin and picked up some locally produced Alpaca yarn. Toby Langham at Rollingwood Alpacas has been raising the lovely creatures for a few years outside of Stone Creek Wisconsin. She currently has 17 adults and juveniles, and 1 cria (the name for a baby alpaca).

We had fun looking around, although this young juvenile wasn't quite sure whether we were some strange Vet coming to poke and prod him. I think that is why Toby is smiling in the previous picture. The little guy was pretty funny.

We have some of the yarn from last years fleece at the store, and are looking forward to the results from this years shearing with these beautiful colored animals.
